Our black cat Ruby, who is now three and a half, was a replacement for the little feline beauty we brought back from Sicily in 2012 and who died tragically several years ago. She was also black except for the very tip of her tail, which was pure white, just like a paint brush having been dipped in a pot of gesso. Neither were very friendly with our guests who were here at Art Toscana, art courses in Italy. However, our other cat Rocky, nicknamed ‘The Colnel’ is a dignified, stately, and a very affectionate old gent, in fact, so affectionate he often invites himself into our painters’ bedrooms to keep them company during the night.
