“Golden Retrievers are the best dogs you could ever wish for,”we were told by our guests at Art Toscana Art Vacations in Italy. We had just lost our previous love, Teddy, a husky cross Italian sheepdog. It was heartbreaking of course. Only a few days later we were told about a litter of Golden Retrievers in the next village. It all seemed far too soon to think about another dog. “Golden Retrievers are the most loving, intelligent, devoted dogs you could possibly wish for,” our guests at Art Toscana Painting Retreats in Italy told us. Well they certainly were right except they didn’t mention that Golden Retrievers can’t resist laying in muddy puddles!!
