This aerial view is of the harbour at Castellammare del Golfo on the north west coast of Sicily. Our Art Toscana Painting Holidays in Italy guests love painting the harbour view. All those boats! So gorgeous! They start off doing relatively quick sketches on large boards, then apply several layers of washes which they dab off using natural sponges to create light and shade. You have to be quick because the acrylic paint dries so fast.The results are fabulous.
