My background is in education, teaching art to young students, teachers and adults. I am an Advanced Skills Teacher and led the Development of Thinking and Learning Skills in East Sussex schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My work as a painter, is mostly two dimensional, incorporating a range of surfaces and media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Layering techniques together with historcal references also play a major role in the creation of these images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have exhibited in the Whitechapel Art Gallery in London, in the USA and Germany. My work is also in private collections, and I undertake commissions. He has run art workshops, both for adults and for children, in art galleries and museums across the UK. Recently he was artist-in-residence at Victoria Art Gallery and Museum in Liverpool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Current projects include: Temple to the Sacred Automobile &#8211; large-scale installations in various UK locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anatomy of London &#8211; exhibition of paintings, pen-and-wash drawings, and etchings &#8211; ( May 2011, Commonwealth Club , London )<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Altarpiece to Human Species &#8211; installation for Liverpool Anglican Cathedral &#8211; October 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;Most of my work is primarily about people and the way we live, but landscapes have always played an important role.
